Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirmed the club remains in the market for further squad work after a busy summer of arrivals. “There are a few players that have to leave as well, so we’ll be open to see what happens.”
Arsenal have been most keenly linked with Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze. It has been reported the club missed the window of opportunity to trigger a release clause in his contract, which was thought to stand at around £67.5 million, though interest in the England international supposedly remains.
Palace boss Oliver Glasner has been unable to offer any reassurances when it comes to Eze’s future. That uncertainty leaves the situation open, particularly given reported advances from Tottenham Hotspur for the same player.
With significant investment already made and clear signals from the manager that both incomings and outgoings are possible, Arsenal’s squad picture may yet change in the coming weeks as the club assesses balance, depth and options before the season settles.

On the collective task, Arteta added: “We talked before the game, it’s going to be a long game, we’re going to have to navigate through different moments in the game, and we’re going to need everybody fulfilling the role that they have on the day, and I think the players executed that incredibly well.”
Madueke is the leading candidate to occupy the right wing when Arsenal face his former club on Tuesday, though Arteta’s squad contains several possible options for the position.
