Sports Interactive has confirmed Football Manager 26 will be released on Nov. 4. The announcement follows several recent teases of the new Unity Engine and arrives alongside a short trailer that highlights the updated interface.

The studio noted that previous instalments have typically offered a beta build around two weeks before the full release, although no beta date has been provided. Players who pre-order through a SEGA-approved digital retailer can expect early access in mid-to-late October.

Studio Director Miles Jacobson said: “I’m honoured and delighted to be revealing Football Manager 26’s release date today.

“Setting Sports Interactive up for the next 20 years and beyond was an enormous undertaking but I couldn’t be prouder of the efforts of the whole team over the past two years.

“FM26 represents a landmark release in our quest to produce football management perfection and the whole studio is really excited to share it with the world.”

The new trailer places emphasis on an all-new user interface designed to give players greater control over key managerial decisions. The update also introduces FMPedia, a built-in guide intended to help new players understand systems and to provide returning players with more structured guidance.

One of the most significant additions to FM26 is the inclusion of women’s football for the first time in series history. Sports Interactive says a number of fully licensed competitions will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The studio’s messaging combines a technical refresh with new accessibility features and a long-awaited expansion of playable competitions, setting clear expectations for the lead-up to the November release.

Palmer sidelined after toe fracture; teammates and coach outline circumstances

Cole Palmer faces a brief spell out after stubbing and breaking his toe; teammates explain details..

Cole Palmer will miss matches after suffering a broken toe at home, a setback confirmed by Chelsea this week. Enzo Maresca revealed on Friday that the injury occurred when the 23-year-old stubbed his toe against a door, describing it as “an accident at home.” The manager declined to offer additional details but made clear Palmer would be unavailable for the immediate fixtures.

Team-mate Marc Cucurella added a lighter line to the account while discussing the incident. “To be fair, I don’t know. He’s running because I think it’s a FIFA game or something like this, I think,” the Spain international said, suggesting the circumstances involved a brief burst of activity at home.

Cucurella admitted the injury was surprising. “To be fair, I couldn’t believe it,” he said, before reflecting on how such incidents can interrupt preparations. “It’s true that these things can happen sometimes. We have a couple of times these things, but I’m stronger than them so I don’t feel anything!

He underlined Palmer’s proximity to returning to the squad prior to the injury and the disappointment it caused. “It’s a big upset for us, because he [Palmer] was near to playing with us and train with us. Now he needs to rest. But it’s part of life, a part of football. We have a personal life and have these kinds of problems. Hopefully he can recover fast.”

Maresca provided the clearest update on Palmer’s recovery timeline, ruling the attacker out of the trip to Barcelona and the weekend meeting with Arsenal. The coach said his return to full, first-team training “for sure it will be soon.” He also offered a positive note on Palmer’s rehabilitation: “He is already on the pitch, already touching the ball, and the feeling is good,” Maresca told assembled media on Monday ahead of his side’s European bout with Barcelona.
