Bringing Garnacho would add directness and wide attacking threat, and the club are willing to wait for the right moment to complete the deal.
Talks over Xavi Simons have progressed, but a formal transfer is not yet concluded. “Chelsea are in advanced verbal discussions with RB Leipzig but a formal club-to-club agreement has yet to be reached.” That line captures where the Simons situation stands: promising negotiations contingent on the club creating room to negotiate fees.
For now, Chelsea’s window is defined by sequencing. The departures of Jackson, Nkunku and others will determine how fast Stamford Bridge can move for Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons, two signings that the club believe could reshape their attacking profile.
