Max Dowman became the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history after scoring in stoppage time of Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Everton. The 16-year-old’s late intervention sealed three points and eclipsed the previous record held by Everton’s James Vaughan.<\/p>\n
Dowman was introduced with 15 minutes to go as Arsenal looked blunt in attack. His cross created Viktor Gy\u00f6keres’s go-ahead goal in the 89th minute and, deep into stoppage time, Dowman kept his composure to add the second and secure victory. The result ensured Arsenal avoided leaving the door open to Manchester City.<\/p>\n
Dowman is recorded at 16 years, 73 days. He displaced James Vaughan, who scored at 16 years, 270 days. Dowman’s breakthrough complements earlier milestones in his career. He had been the youngest scorer in UEFA Youth League history at 14 and became the youngest player in Premier League 2.
