Tottenham Hotspur are actively exploring alternatives to interim manager Igor Tudor after a run of results that has left his short-term contract under threat. Since Tudor\u2019s arrival Spurs have lost to Arsenal, Fulham and Crystal Palace, and a 5\u20132 defeat to Atl\u00e9tico Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 left the interim boss without a win in each of his four games in charge. The Athletic note Tudor\u2019s future at Spurs is far from safe as club officials are already looking at potential replacements for the former Juventus boss if it becomes clear he is not capable of steering the club out of danger. A departure at this stage would make Tudor\u2019s reign one of the shortest in Premier League history.<\/p>\n
Initial optimism after his appointment faded. Tudor spoke well during his Spurs unveiling, creating a sense of optimism among a fanbase which has quickly been sent crashing down to earth in the weeks that followed. Poor results have not helped endear Tudor to either the fans or the players, and the situation worsened in Madrid when goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky was substituted after just 17 minutes following two errors directly leading to goals. Many supporters treated the trip to Madrid as secondary amid a relegation fight, but Sunday\u2019s visit to Liverpool may well decide Tudor\u2019s fate. He could be without as many as 13 players through injury or suspension for that match. At this stage Tottenham would likely only be able to appoint another interim manager charged with avoiding the drop. Specialists in these scenarios, such as Sean Dyche and Sam Allardyce, have been put forward.
