The Premier League has confirmed its monthly awards for January 2026 with Brentford striker Igor Thiago named Player of the Month and Manchester United newcomer Michael Carrick taking the managerial prize.<\/p>\n
Thiago becomes the first Brazilian player in Premier League history to win the Player of the Month award more than once. His recognition follows a previous listing that shows him as the November winner for Brentford.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s an amazing feeling,\u201d Thiago told Brentford media . \u201cI\u2019ve asked people at the club how many Brentford players have won this, and they told me that nobody had received this trophy before me.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I\u2019m really happy to have won it two times now and I look forward to, hopefully, winning more!<\/p>\n
\u201cI also want to thank all of the staff and all of the players for their support and for helping me on the pitch.\u201d<\/p>\n
The published player list for recent months includes Jack Grealish (Everton, August), Erling Haaland (Man City, September), Bryan Mbeumo (Man Utd, October), Igor Thiago (Brentford, November) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Leeds, December).<\/p>\n
Carrick\u2019s managerial award arrives after he took charge of Manchester United on Jan. 13 and had just two matches to oversee before the end of the month. United won both fixtures, beating Manchester City and Arsenal, and those results were central to his recognition.<\/p>\n
