Manchester City have completed the signing of Marc Gu\u00e9hi in a transfer accelerated by an injury crisis in defence. The deal, agreed this month, is worth an initial \u00a320 million (\u00a326.8 million) and will see Gu\u00e9hi join the squad at the Etihad on a contract that runs until 2031.<\/p>\n
Marc Gu\u00e9hi spoke at the time of his signing and made clear his pride in the move. \u201cI am really happy and incredibly proud to be a Manchester City player,\u201d Gu\u00e9hi said after signing a contract to tie himself to his new club until 2031.<\/p>\n
He described the transfer as the result of sustained effort in his career and underlined his ambition to continue improving. \u201cThis move feels like the culmination of all the hard work I have put into my career. I am now at the best club in England and part of an unbelievable squad of players. It feels good to be able to say that.<\/p>\n

Sporting director Hugo Viana welcomed the acquisition and framed it as a successful conclusion to competition for the defender. \u201cIt is clear Marc has been one of the best defenders in English football for quite some time now, so we are absolutely delighted to bring him to Manchester City,\u201d Viana said.<\/p>\n
On the player\u2019s potential and character, Viana added: \u201cI feel we have signed a huge talent who will help us improve. He is only 25, but he has shown already he is a leader, a brilliant professional and someone desperate to improve.<\/p>\n
