Manchester United have joined Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain in tracking Yan Diomande after a breakthrough spell in the Bundesliga. The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international led RB Leipzig with six league goals before leaving for the Africa Cup of Nations, and reports value him at between \u20ac60\u201370 million rather than the inflated \u20ac100 million figure circulating elsewhere.<\/p>\n
Diomande has fewer than 30 senior club appearances to his name. Leipzig paid \u20ac20 million for the forward after a short La Liga spell with Legan\u00e9s. He made his senior debut in March 2025, aged 18, and recorded just 10 appearances and 542 minutes for the relegation-bound side, including a four-minute cameo against Real Madrid before his move to Germany.<\/p>\n
RB Leipzig\u2019s managing director for sport, Marcel Sch\u00e4fer, summed up the player succinctly: \u201cYoung, hungry and high potential.\u201d Across the last year Diomande has shown the dribbling and directness that attracted attention; one data summary lists his non-penalty goals at 0.50 per 90 and places him high among attacking wide players. He also beats opponents around 4.2 times per 90 minutes at a success rate near 58%.<\/p>\n
Diomande described his own game in German media: \u201cMy style is explosive, fast and physically strong,\u201d he surmised in an interview with the German top flight. \u201cQuick, agile and also a finisher. I know I am not yet a perfect finisher, but I am only 19. With time, it will come\u2014and I will become a killer in front of goal.\u201d He has also reflected on his background: \u201cI like to say: I left the streets, but the streets did not leave me,\u201d he reflected. <\/p>\n
Capable of playing on either flank in Leipzig\u2019s systems, Diomande\u2019s versatility has been noted alongside tactical links to Manchester United, where a player offering a counterpoint to Amad Diallo at wingback has been sought.
