The standout fixture is Aston Villa’s trip to Arsenal, but there are consequential tests throughout the round. Liverpool and Manchester City meet promoted opposition, while Chelsea and Manchester United host sides in poor form.

Burnley have secured back-to-back points but remain six points from safety and have not matched the standards set by fellow promoted teams Sunderland and Leeds United. Newcastle do not have a fearsome away record, but they have the attacking quality to exploit a porous Burnley defence. Nick Woltemade, Anthony Gordon and Co. will aim to lift the Magpies, who sit 14th, and pressure is rising on Eddie Howe. Prediction: Burnley 0–1 Newcastle.

Chelsea were denied a result against Aston Villa when Ollie Watkins scored a second-half brace, condemning the Blues to their third Stamford Bridge defeat of the season and costing them a top four spot. Enzo Maresca has faced scrutiny and will want a morale-boosting win against Bournemouth. The Cherries have gone nine matches without a win after a 4–1 loss at Brentford and have fallen to 15th. Prediction: Chelsea 2–1 Bournemouth.

Nottingham Forest host Everton in one of several Sean Dyche derbies. Dyche has won half of his 14 matches since arriving in the Midlands and will seek three points to move further from the relegation zone. Everton’s goalless draw with Burnley highlighted their scoring problems, having blanked in their previous three. Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1–0 Everton.

West Ham’s brief resurgence under Nuno Espírito Santo has faded; defeat to Fulham leaves them five points from safety and with only two wins since early September. Brighton are winless in five but possess the quality to inflict further damage. Prediction: West Ham 1–2 Brighton.

Villa’s run of victories over Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea has pushed them into the title conversation. Despite underlying numbers suggesting overperformance, their confidence is high. Arsenal must be wary at home. Prediction: Arsenal 1–2 Aston Villa.

Manchester United should overcome Wolves after a December hammering of the visitors; Ruben Amorim’s side impressed with tactical flexibility against Newcastle but may revert to a pragmatic set-up. Prediction: Man Utd 3–0 Wolves.

Crystal Palace’s squad has been drained by European travel and injuries, leaving them winless in five; Fulham arrive on a three-game winning run. Prediction: Crystal Palace 1–1 Fulham.

Liverpool have improved after a poor autumn but still show defensive issues. They will welcome Leeds after a 3–3 draw at Elland Road in which they twice surrendered leads. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has seven goals in his last six and Leeds are five games unbeaten. Prediction: Liverpool 3–2 Leeds.

Thomas Frank returns to Brentford for an emotional reunion and Tottenham will seek a repeat of their earlier victory. Prediction: Brentford 1–1 Tottenham.

Man City have won eight successive matches across all competitions and are two points behind Arsenal. Their 3–0 win over Sunderland in early December points to a tight trip north. Sunderland remain one of two teams unbeaten at home this season. Prediction: Sunderland 0–1 Man City.

Gameweek 19 straddles 2025 and 2026 as Aston Villa travel to Arsenal and several tight fixtures loom

[711,1358,969
1041,1089
post-5522","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-aston-villa","category-gameweek-19","category-premier-league","tag-amorim-concerns","tag-chelsea-struggles
["GET
