Reports say Chelsea are among five clubs to have shown interest in Nottingham Forest attacking midfielder James McAtee. His continued absence from Forest\u2019s starting lineup, which persisted in Saturday\u2019s narrow defeat to his former club Manchester City, has fuelled fresh transfer speculation.<\/p>\n
Under-pressure Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is reported to admire McAtee. The two worked together at City when the Italian was a member of Pep Guardiola\u2019s coaching staff, and the Blues remain active in the market for “opportunities” despite already being well stocked with No. 10s.<\/p>\n
Other clubs named as admirers include Leeds United, Fulham, Sunderland and Bournemouth. Bournemouth may consider a loan move as they prepare to lose talismanic forward Antoine Semenyo, most likely to Manchester City in a transfer worth \u00a365 million.<\/p>\n
McAtee has been at Forest for a little over four months but has already worked under three different managers. Nuno Esp\u00edrito Santo was in charge when City agreed to sell McAtee in January but he left the club in early September after a spectacular falling out with owner Evangelos Marinakis and former Arsenal midfield Edu Gaspar, who was appointed as Global Head of Football over the summer. Ange Postecoglou replaced Nuno but lasted eight matches before being dismissed by Marinakis, paving the way for the appointment of Sean Dyche.<\/p>\n
Playing time has been limited under Dyche. He\u2019s come off the bench in just two of Dyche\u2019s seven Premier League matches in charge, making short cameos against Brighton and Fulham that have cumulatively lasted just 22 minutes. McAtee has seen more minutes in Europa League rotation but did not complete the full 90 against Sturm Graz, Malm\u00f6 or Utrecht and was substituted at half time against Utrecht when Dyche brought on Elliot Anderson and Ibrahim Sangar\u00e9.<\/p>\n
