Florian Wirtz insisted he remains “very happy” at Liverpool even as the club endures a difficult run of form.<\/p>\n
After an improved weekend victory at West Ham United, Liverpool regressed against Sunderland, producing few clear-cut chances and looking exposed defensively. Chemsdine Talbi\u2019s 67th-minute strike left Liverpool facing a third successive home defeat before Wirtz produced a late intervention.<\/p>\n
The German\u2019s deflected strike eight minutes from time supplied an invaluable equaliser, although what appeared a first goal for his new employers actually turned out to be a Nordi Mukiele own goal. Wirtz, who impressed after an encouraging weekend display, only learned of the official ruling during a post-match interview.<\/p>\n
