Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has described an extraordinary day in the summer of 2024 when he met representatives of both Manchester United and Chelsea within hours.<\/p>\n
Frank said the sequence took place on May 24, 2024. He met United in the London garage of the club co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and, within a few hours, travelled across the capital to meet Chelsea\u2019s delegation at the Mayfair Hotel.<\/p>\n
\u201cSitting in for an interview with two of the 10 biggest clubs in the world\u2014two hours apart\u2014is quite unique,\u201d Frank beamed during an interview with TV 2.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know I didn\u2019t get either job, but it was still a huge deal. I remember walking through Battersea Park between the two interviews and thinking: \u2018Thomas Frank from f—— Frederiksv\u00e6rk\u2014am I really experiencing this?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Manchester United went on to win the FA Cup final the following day. Frank was among several names linked to the Old Trafford vacancy; Thomas Tuchel, Roberto De Zerbi, Graham Potter, Marco Silva and Mauricio Pochettino were reportedly on the club\u2019s shortlist. Ratcliffe ultimately kept Erik ten Hag and gave him a new contract later that summer; ten Hag was sacked by October 2024.<\/p>\n
