Manchester City left the Emirates with a point after Erling Haaland opened the scoring but Gabriel Martinelli\u2019s late finish levelled the match.<\/p>\n
City arrived looking to end a five-game winless run against the Gunners, who had beaten them 5\u20131 at this ground in February. Periods of pressure were expected and the visitors found themselves relying on rapid transitions rather than prolonged possession. Erling Haaland created space against Gabriel in the build-up to the opener, linking with Tijjani Reijnders on a counter that finished with Haaland\u2019s strike. Once Reijnders found Haaland, there was little doubt Arsenal were conceding from open play for the first time this season.<\/p>\n
Gianluigi Donnarumma was called into action from set-pieces and produced a strong save to deny Noni Madueke just before half-time. The introductions of Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka brought greater impetus to Arsenal after the interval, and City\u2019s defending was tested as the hosts searched for an equaliser. City continued to counter and had another chance to extend their lead, with Haaland firing straight at David Raya.<\/p>\n
As the game entered its closing stages Arsenal pushed on and the substitutes combined to force a share of the points. Eze and Gabriel Martinelli linked up and Martinelli\u2019s finish over Donnarumma brought the match level. The draw leaves both sides turning their attention to the Carabao Cup.<\/p>\n
