Raheem Sterling was linked with a wide range of suitors this summer but reportedly remained \u201creluctant\u201d to leave Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n
Reports named Premier League interest from Crystal Palace, Fulham and West Ham United, while European clubs including Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Napoli were also credited with enquiries. The Telegraph say Bayern Munich sounded out a potential deal for Sterling on Deadline Day amid the negotiations around Nicolas Jackson\u2019s loan move.<\/p>\n
Napoli were singled out among the overseas options. The club were described as having a habit of signing Premier League players who had been cast aside by their previous employers. The draft notes: Kevin De Bruyne arrived in Naples after Manchester City refused to extend his contract while Rasmus H\u00f8jlund was actively shunted out of Old Trafford by Manchester United. Both players happened to find the net in a 3\u20131 win over Fiorentina on Saturday.<\/p>\n
According to The Telegraph\u2019s report, he \u201cseemed reluctant to move overseas\u201d or even out of London. No further explanation for that reticence was offered in the coverage, and it was used to explain why a move to the Saudi Pro League was unlikely this summer.<\/p>\n
Sterling remains outside the plans of manager Enzo Maresca. The Italian coach admitted that he is yet to speak to any members of Chelsea\u2019s so-called \u201cbomb squad\u201d this season.
