Mohamed Salah climbed to fourth place on the Premier League’s all-time scoring chart with the match-winning goal against Burnley. The strike was his second of the 2025\/26 campaign, adding to the goal he scored on the opening night against Bournemouth, and marked the 188th Premier League goal of his career.<\/p>\n
That total takes Salah one clear of Andy Cole, who sits on 187. Ahead of him lie Wayne Rooney on 208, Harry Kane on 213 and Alan Shearer on 260. To draw level with Rooney Salah requires 20 more Premier League goals this season, a target made more attainable by his 29-goal haul last season.<\/p>\n
Under contract at Anfield until 2027, Salah is well positioned to push past Rooney and place Kane\u2019s 213 on his radar. Alan Shearer\u2019s total of 260 will present a far greater challenge under the terms of his current contract.<\/p>\n
Salah also etched his name into another Liverpool record with the Burnley penalty. Billy Liddell had previously been the club\u2019s leading penalty scorer with 34; Salah\u2019s successful spot kick took him to 35, moving him clear at the top of that list for the Reds.<\/p>\n
The forward\u2019s next opportunity to add to his Premier League tally comes next weekend when Liverpool host Everton. That fixture follows a midweek trip to Atl\u00e9tico Madrid, which marks the start of Liverpool’s Champions League campaign.<\/p>\n
