The headline signing was Jo\u00e3o Pedro from Brighton for \u00a360 million. After a strong Club World Cup showing, Pedro produced two goals and two assists in his first three Premier League games and has operated both as a striker and covering for the injured Cole Palmer.<\/p>\n
Liam Delap arrived for \u00a330 million, while Est\u00eav\u00e3o, who signed last summer but only joined this year, has slotted in during pre-season and the early Premier League runs. There were major outgoings as well. Nicolas Jackson moved to Bayern Munich on a loan that carried a fee of over \u00a314 million and a conditional obligation to make the transfer permanent for over \u00a356 million, a structure that could see Chelsea receive more than \u00a370 million in total. Noni Madueke left for Arsenal for \u00a352 million. Not every target materialised. A proposed move for Mike Maignan collapsed over around \u00a35 million, Chelsea failed to secure a new centre back after Levi Colwill\u2019s injury, and cover for Cole Palmer remains a concern.
