Chelsea have confirmed the loan signing of Facundo Buonanotte from Brighton & Hove Albion for the remainder of the 2025\u201326 season. The 20-year-old arrives at Stamford Bridge after spending the second half of last season on loan at Ipswich Town alongside Liam Delap.<\/p>\n
Ferm\u00edn L\u00f3pez was considered during Chelsea’s search for midfield reinforcements, but the Barcelona midfielder remained determined to stay in Catalonia this summer. Chelsea instead pursued a low-risk option and secured Buonanotte on a temporary deal.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m very happy to join Chelsea,\u201d Buonanotte told club media. \u201cIt\u2019s a great opportunity for me and I\u2019m just looking to add as much to the squad as possible, help the team and help the staff.\u201d<\/p>\n
Chelsea are not believed to have agreed a permanent transfer clause in their latest negotiation with Brighton. Buonanotte is the final incoming signing in a busy transfer window for the club, which has strengthened in a number of positions.<\/p>\n
The Blues have added Jo\u00e3o Pedro and Delap to bolster the front line, with Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho and Est\u00eav\u00e3o brought in as wide options. In midfield and defence cover, central midfielder D\u00e1rio Essugo completed a pre-agreed switch from Sporting CP and Jorrel Hato joined from Ajax to provide cover at both centre back and left back.<\/p>\n
The club’s ownership group, BlueCo, has continued established transfer links with Brighton this summer. Pedro completed a \u00a360 million ($81 million) move to London early in the window. Meanwhile, sister side Strasbourg negotiated for another attacking midfielder: Julio Enciso has joined Strasbourg permanently, with reports claiming the deal involves a future transfer to Chelsea as soon as next summer.<\/p>\n
