Chelsea have completed the permanent signing of Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho. The player has committed to a seven-year contract that runs until the summer of 2032.<\/p>\n
The transfer fee has not been disclosed. Previous reports cited a guaranteed sum of \u00a340 million ($54 million) and a sell-on clause worth 10% of a future deal.<\/p>\n
Garnacho broke into Manchester United\u2019s first-team in 2022 after spearheading the club\u2019s FA Youth Cup success that year. He made 144 appearances in just over three years, his most recent outing coming off the bench in last season\u2019s Europa League final. Frustrated comments made after the game, in which he bemoaned his role, appeared to mark a split with manager Ruben Amorim.<\/p>\n
On joining Chelsea the 21-year-old said: \u201cIt\u2019s an incredible moment for my family and I to join this great club,\u201d the 21-year-old told Chelsea\u2019s in-house media. \u201cI can\u2019t wait to get started. I watched the Club World Cup and to join the world champions is special\u2014we\u2019re the best team in the world! It\u2019s amazing to be here and I\u2019m very happy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Manchester United confirmed the move in a brief statement: \u201cWe would like to thank Alejandro for his contribution and wish him the best of luck for the next chapter in his career.\u201d<\/p>\n
