Chelsea return to the Champions League after winning the Europa Conference League last term and will add European ambitions to their other objectives.<\/p>\n
Newcastle United qualified despite finishing fifth in the league. The Magpies took one of the competition\u2019s European Performance Spots. Those EPS places are awarded to associations with the highest coefficients based on performances across UEFA competitions, with the relevant period in this case being 2024\u201325. That continental form by English sides allowed Newcastle to enter the group phase directly.<\/p>\n
Tottenham Hotspur secured their place through victory in the Europa League. Spurs ended a 17-year trophy drought by beating Manchester United 1-0 in the final, which also sent them into the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup. They subsequently lost the Super Cup to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties.<\/p>\n
All six clubs will learn their group-stage opponents at the draw on August 28 in Monaco. Each side will be drawn against two teams from each of the four pots, and teams from the same domestic league cannot be drawn together.
