Manchester United\u2019s search for a first Premier League victory of the campaign was halted at Craven Cottage as Fulham secured a 1-1 draw in a match that swung in momentum several times.<\/p>\n
The opening period was frenetic. Just three minutes in, Matheus Cunha found space inside the box from Mason Mount\u2019s pass but his effort struck the woodwork. Shortly after, Altay Bayindir played over the top to Cunha, who brought the ball down and fired toward goal only for Leno to produce a sensational point-blank save.<\/p>\n
United were then awarded a penalty before the interval when Calvin Bassey brought Mount down in the box, but Bruno Fernandes skied the spot-kick over the bar.<\/p>\n
Early in the second half United made two changes, with Diogo Dalot and summer signing Benjamin Sesko replacing Casemiro and Amad Diallo as the visitors sought to inject energy.<\/p>\n
The breakthrough arrived in the 58th minute. United\u2019s first goal of the season came when Leny Yoro connected to a corner from Bryan Mbeumo; the delivery deflected off Rodrigo Muniz and slipped past Leno.<\/p>\n
The lead lasted only until the 73rd minute. Alex Iwobi delivered a teasing cross into the area and Matthijs de Ligt\u2019s attempt to intercept fell short, allowing substitute Emile Smith Rowe to poke the ball home and spark celebrations at Craven Cottage. From that moment Marco Silva’s side grew in confidence and looked set to claim all three points.<\/p>\n
In the closing stages Harry Maguire nearly produced a late header from a corner in the 89th minute but it went just wide.
