Richarlison has begun the 2025\/26 season visibly refreshed after a disrupted 2024\/25 campaign. The 28-year-old managed just 24 appearances and five goals last term but has signalled he never wanted to leave Tottenham despite recurring speculation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The forward made his intentions clear to new manager Thomas Frank on Frank\u2019s first day in charge and welcomed the manager\u2019s reaction. \u201cIt was very important,\u201d Richarlison said of that chat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\u201cSince I got here, every time the transfer window opens, my name is circled as one who could leave, going back to Brazil or wherever.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
\n\u201cBut I\u2019ve always been focused on Tottenham and I\u2019ve never had a conversation about leaving. I\u2019m in a good moment.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
\n\u201cI hope to continue working hard and getting the opportunity to give my best.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Richarlison has responded with strong early displays. He produced an impressive performance in the UEFA Super Cup against Paris St Germain and followed that with a brace as Spurs beat Burnley 3-0 in their Premier League opener. He also supplied the cross for Brennan Johnson\u2019s opener in Saturday\u2019s 2-0 victory at Manchester City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m very happy to be back,\u201d Richarlison told Brazilian broadcasters. \u201cAfter a long time, I was able to do a full pre-season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSince the PSG game, I\u2019ve been playing with a rhythm that I\u2019ve not had for a while \u2013 so I\u2019ve been able to get into that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been able to play a good game and this is the result of a pre-season that was very good for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNow I want to be able to continue like this and play like this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere\u2019s been a lot of meetings (under Frank) \u2013 but I like that \u2013 meetings every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m improving the tactical part and I\u2019m training well to improve \u2013 hopefully that comes in handy for our defenders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen it was our second goal, we were able to steal the ball and the goal came out. As I said, I\u2019m going to continue like this, working hard and hopefully things will happen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tottenham were linked with Crystal Palace\u2019s Eberechi Eze in transfer talk that mentioned Richarlison as a possible makeweight, but the forward has dismissed any intention to depart. Tottenham will host Bournemouth next Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ruben Dias, who this week signed a new four-year deal at the Etihad Stadium, reflected on City\u2019s loss: \u201cSpurs are a team who can be very dangerous, they started the game very well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe didn\u2019t react the best way in sticking to our game. The second goal is unfortunate, it cannot happen. We chased but there was a lot of things to do better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
