Andoni Iraola has said Cody Gakpo \u201chas a chance\u201d of being available this weekend after missing Wednesday\u2019s 2-1 win over Atl\u00e9tico Madrid.<\/p>\n
The Liverpool forward, who has registered four goal involvements in three appearances this season, was left out because of an adductor problem. Before kick-off against Atl\u00e9ti, Iraola gave a positive assessment of the situation and suggested the issue is not a serious one.<\/p>\n
\u201cCody finished the game the other day against Ipswich with some adductor issues. Both sides. Nothing specific,\u201d Iraola revealed before kickoff against Atl\u00e9ti.<\/p>\n
\u201c[It is] not a proper injury. But we didn\u2019t want to risk him, and I think it makes sense he can rest and hope we can recover him.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf it\u2019s not for the weekend, it\u2019s for the next one. But I think even for the weekend he has a chance.\u201d<\/p>\n
Liverpool face former right back \u00c1lvaro Arbeloa and his Fulham side at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday, and Gakpo has a strong recent record in that fixture, having produced a goal or assist in four of his last five meetings with the Cottagers.<\/p>\n
There was also concern over Bradley Barcola when he went to ground clutching his leg shortly before the hour mark against Atl\u00e9ti. The summer signing was soon taken off after being assessed by Liverpool\u2019s medical staff.<\/p>\n
Those fears were eased after the final whistle, with Iraola confirming the problem was only cramp.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is cramp. It is just cramp, there is no injury,\u201d the boss insisted. \u201cWith Bradley, it\u2019s about building his physical condition. We don\u2019t really know, or we didn\u2019t know until now, probably, how much he can play because he hasn\u2019t had any minutes in preseason for PSG.\u201d<\/p>\n
