\u00c1lvaro Arbeloa\u2019s start at Fulham has quickly become a source of concern after the club lost their opening three Premier League matches of the 2026\/27 season.<\/p>\n
The problems have been obvious from the outset. Fulham\u2019s back line has been repeatedly exposed, with Crystal Palace cutting through them on the break and all three goals in that defeat arriving down the left side. Confidence around the manager appears to be fading, too. Supporters were heard chanting \u201cwhat the f—ing hell was that?\u201d after the latest loss, while there are also signs of unrest among players.<\/p>\n
Club record-signing Kevin, who has not yet started a league match under Arbeloa, posted a cryptic image on his Instagram stories of three apes with the words \u201cno hear, no speak, no see\u201d. Emile Smith Rowe and Alex Iwobi have also reportedly removed all Fulham -related photos from their social media accounts.<\/p>\n
That instability recalls Arbeloa\u2019s difficult spell at Real Madrid, and he was asked directly about his future after the setback to Palace.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not about my position but I am very confident,\u201d Arbeloa replied when asked about his job security following the defeat to Palace.<\/p>\n
\u201cI told my players they are working how I want. They are playing how I feel football. I came here because I believe in this football, playing how I think we will win games. As a coach, you don\u2019t need to feel hurt or fear. You have to believe in yourself and your ideas.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cWe conceded very easy goals. Crystal Palace didn\u2019t need to do so many things to score three goals. We need to control the second balls and in some situations we are very wide and open.\u201d<\/p>\n
Josh King has offered one of the few positives, while C\u00e9sar Palacios and Gonzalo Garc\u00eda have shown promise. Even so, Arbeloa\u2019s immediate task is clear: strengthen a vulnerable side and win over a dressing room that already looks unconvinced.<\/p>\n
Fulham have only twice before started a top division season with three straight defeats, in 1951\u201352 and 2020\u201321, and both ended in relegation.
