City are said to be preparing contact with Chelsea, although any transfer still depends on the fee set by the west London club. Earlier in the window, Chelsea valued Fern\u00e1ndez at $162 million (\u00a3120 million) and imposed an Aug. 14 deadline for the move to be finalised.
