The question at the top of the market remains straightforward: who has spent the most?

Chelsea are currently out in front with a total spend of $476 million, comfortably ahead of Tottenham Hotspur on $311.5 million and Arsenal on $265 million. Newcastle United sit fourth at $229.9 million, while Manchester City have committed $208.5 million.

Elsewhere, Ipswich Town have been among the surprise big spenders with $208.1 million, just behind City. Aston Villa follow on $187.3 million, with Coventry City, Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool also among the leading outlays.

At the other end of the table, Sunderland have spent $32.7 million, the lowest figure in the division so far. They are one of five clubs, alongside Brentford, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest, yet to pass $100 million.

Brentford’s total of $97.4 million includes their record signing Mamadou Sangaré, who cost $52.5 million. Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth remain below the nine-figure mark as the window continues.

Chelsea’s spending has once again been headline-grabbing. Their biggest deal was the arrival of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for a club record $159.6 million. The Blues are one of 11 Premier League clubs to have broken their transfer record this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur have also pushed hard, breaking their club record twice and spending a combined $252 million on Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali. Further attacking additions are still expected before the deadline.

Manchester United and Liverpool may yet climb further, with United close to signing Carlos Baleba from Brighton, while Liverpool are chasing two wingers, including Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola.

Newcastle United and Aston Villa have both been forced into major rebuilds after losing key players to Premier League and European rivals, and both remain among the six clubs with positive net spends.

Chelsea lead Premier League summer spending as Tottenham, Arsenal and others invest heavily ahead of 2026/27.

[172
1836,1162,182
post-18724","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-epl","tag-2026-27-premier-league","tag-analytics","tag-transfers
["GET
