A planned switch for Jadon Sancho to Roma is in jeopardy after the winger was unable to agree personal terms with the Italian club.<\/p>\n
Roma had proposed a loan with an obligation to make the transfer permanent for a fee of around \u00a320m. Manchester United are prepared to accept that structure for the outcast winger, but negotiations over Sancho\u2019s salary have stalled and the deal has not progressed.<\/p>\n
Sancho has spent the past 18 months out on loan, first with Borussia Dortmund and latterly with Chelsea. Chelsea\u2019s loan move also contained an obligation to make the move permanent, though the Blues paid an optional \u00a35m get-out fee after also failing to reach an agreement on salary with Sancho.<\/p>\n
The player has 12 months to run on his Manchester United contract, worth around \u00a3250,000-a-week. He is unwilling to take a significant cut to leave Old Trafford, despite not featuring in Ruben Amorim\u2019s plans.<\/p>\n
Turkish side Besiktas have also enquired about a deal and are willing to meet the asking price. However, Sancho is not currently willing to consider a move to the Turkish S\u00fcper Lig.<\/p>\n
With personal terms unresolved, United now face the prospect of retaining a player who is out of the manager\u2019s plans and who has a year remaining on a substantial contract. The combination of the loan-with-obligation proposal from Roma and Sancho\u2019s wage demands has left all parties at an impasse for the moment.<\/p>\n
