Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola has become one of the summer\u2019s most closely watched names, with Liverpool and Arsenal both credited with interest. The latest indication is that the 23-year-old is more inclined towards Liverpool should a move away from PSG happen before the window shuts.<\/p>\n
Barcola remains open to leaving, largely because of the level of competition for places in Paris. Even so, PSG are not expected to make it easy. Reports suggest only a huge offer, possibly close to $200 million, would persuade them to sell before the deadline.<\/p>\n
Liverpool\u2019s biggest obstacle is not the player\u2019s stance, but whether an agreement can be reached with PSG on the fee. According to L\u2019Equipe, personal terms are already in place between Barcola and Liverpool, yet he is not prepared to push for an exit. That leaves the two clubs to find common ground if the transfer is to move forward.<\/p>\n
The same report claims PSG are using recent Premier League deals, including Elliot Anderson\u2019s move to Manchester City and Morgan Rogers\u2019s switch to Chelsea, as benchmarks for Barcola\u2019s value. Liverpool, though, are reportedly unwilling to go beyond the $138 million (\u20ac120 million, \u00a3102 million) mark.<\/p>\n
Dialogue between the clubs is still said to be active, and there is an openness to negotiate. PSG president Nasser Al-Khela\u00effi is expected to speak with members of Liverpool\u2019s hierarchy in the coming days.<\/p>\n
For Arsenal, the situation adds another complication. After their pursuit of Vin\u00edcius Jr, Mikel Arteta still needs an elite attacking addition. The Gunners had already lost out to Chelsea for Rogers, while Jeremy Monga described a move to Manchester City as a “no-brainer”. Arsenal have made progress elsewhere, with Bruno Guimar\u00e3es heading to north London in a $100.7 million (\u00a375 million) deal and Christos Tzolis arriving to replace Leandro Trossard, but another top forward is still wanted.
