Paris Saint-Germain\u2019s valuation of Bradley Barcola reflects a market that keeps inflating, but it also creates a clear problem for any interested buyer. The 23-year-old forward is attracting attention from Liverpool, with Arsenal close behind, after two strong seasons that both ended with a Champions League title.<\/p>\n
Those achievements help explain the interest, yet the reported fee attached to him is difficult to justify. If Barcola were sold for close to $193 million, he would move into third place on the all-time transfer list, behind only Neymar and Kylian Mbapp\u00e9. In those cases, however, PSG were the buying club rather than the selling one.<\/p>\n
On paper, Barcola has plenty to offer. He has delivered 50 goal involvements over the last two campaigns and collected 12 trophies during his three years in France\u2019s capital. He is also valued for his flexibility, operating comfortably on either wing. From the left, he can cut inside onto his preferred right foot, while from the right his pace takes him to the byline quickly.<\/p>\n
That speed remains one of his standout qualities. Barcola can escape fullbacks from a standing start and looks effective in tight areas too, using close control and agility to open space around the penalty box. There is still a raw edge to his game, but at 23 there is every reason to think more improvement could follow.<\/p>\n
Even so, Liverpool and Arsenal are not expected to meet PSG\u2019s asking price. Liverpool are unlikely to break their transfer record again so soon, while Arsenal also face limits after spending heavily last summer. PSG may therefore need to lower their demands, particularly after Barcola reportedly rejected a fresh contract offer. His current deal runs until 2028.<\/p>\n
Liverpool have already made an initial offer of around $133 million (\u00a3100 million), but they are not prepared to stretch far beyond that. PSG may find it hard to secure top value as uncertainty around his future grows.<\/p>\n
The key issue is not talent but reliability. Barcola scored 13 goals last season, yet he missed 10 big chances in the Champions League and 15 in Ligue 1.
