Liverpool had eight World Cup participants in their 2026-27 squad, even if the Dutch contingent exited in the round of 32 and Florian Wirtz\u2019s Germany fell the same day. Alexander Isak played four matches for Sweden, Alisson went one round further with Brazil, and Alexis Mac Allister endured a heavy run with Argentina. Chelsea also came through relatively well, with Enzo Fern\u00e1ndez reaching the final and Reece James, Malo Gusto, Mois\u00e9s Caicedo and Pedro Neto all experiencing differing tournament lengths.<\/p>\n
Sunderland emerged as one of the summer\u2019s surprise stories, with a dozen players involved and 11 reaching the knockout stage. Manchester United, by contrast, carried a large and often troubled group, while Manchester City logged the most collective minutes of any Premier League club.
