Roma have submitted a proposal that could take Alejandro Garnacho out of Chelsea on a season-long loan, Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports. The offer is said to be \u20ac5 million for the loan, with a \u20ac35 million option to buy that would become mandatory if agreed conditions are met.<\/p>\n
The proposed buy option is well below the \u00a340 million Chelsea paid to sign Garnacho, and the club may struggle to insist on recouping that full fee given the winger\u2019s 2025\u201326 numbers. Garnacho finished the season with eight goals across all competitions. He made 43 appearances in his debut campaign for the Blues but found consistent selection hard to come by.<\/p>\n
In the Premier League he featured 24 times, starting 14 matches, and recorded one goal and four assists. Much of his scoring came in cup competitions: six of his eight goals arrived in the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup. Four of those goals were scored against Cardiff City, Port Vale and Wrexham, while two came in a substitute appearance against Arsenal in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semifinals.<\/p>\n
By season\u2019s end interim manager Calum McFarlane used Garnacho for only five minutes across Chelsea\u2019s final three games. Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni also left the 22-year-old at home for the 2026 World Cup, a further sign of how his stock has stalled.<\/p>\n
Any prospects of a strong second season appeared to dim when new boss Alonso acknowledged the club is open to offers. \u201cWe have spoken with the sporting directors, and there is interest [in] him from other clubs, so let\u2019s see how it develops,\u201d Alonso said in regards to Garnacho\u2019s situation. \u201cHopefully it finishes in the best possible way for all parties.\u201d<\/p>\n
