Manchester United have completed the signing of Andrey Santos, the club\u2019s first addition of the summer as a planned midfield rebuild gets under way. United will pay Chelsea a guaranteed \u00a348 million with a further \u00a32 million possible in conditional add-ons. Santos has signed an initial five-year contract with an option to extend to 2032.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything about Manchester United is special,\u201d Santos said in the club\u2019s official communication. \u201cIt is an incredible feeling to join a club that some of my biggest idols have represented.<\/p>\n

It is expected that Santos will shortly also be joined by Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa.<\/p>\n
The deal continues a familiar pattern of business between Chelsea and Manchester United. For clubs that have co-existed as fierce competitive rivals in the Premier League era, the path from Chelsea to Manchester United and vice versa is relatively well trodden.
