The fullback\u2019s gender reveal in February \u2014 hurling a throw-in into an empty goal at the Gtech Community Stadium that prompted pink flares \u2014 captured his commitment to the long throw. \u201cPeople think that you can play in the Premier League just because you have a good throw-in?\u201d the Italy U21 international scoffed. \u201cThat\u2019s crazy!\u201d Kayode, a nominee for Best Young Player, completed the fourth-most dribbles in the division, ranking above Rayan Cherki, Bukayo Saka and Florian Wirtz, and helped drive the over-performing Bees upfield.<\/p>\n<p>William Saliba approached defending with efficient precision, while Gabriel\u2019s aggressive conception of beauty produced a consistently dominant campaign. \u201cI think beautiful football is not only a beautiful pass,\u201d the Brazilian theorized, \u201cbut also when you defend, the way you defend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Versatility shone at Manchester City through Nico O\u2019Reilly, who spent most of the season at left back, offered ballast in Rodri\u2019s absence and even operated as a box-crashing No. 8. \u201cHe has been a surprise,\u201d Guardiola admitted, \u201ceven for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dominik Szoboszlai answered his own challenge: \u201cI need to improve in a lot of things.\u201d He did, dominating matches with a blend of power and finesse even as Liverpool colleagues did not match his trajectory.<\/p>\n<p>At Manchester United, Casemiro rediscovered form, supplying defensive coverage and nine Premier League goals \u2014 a tally Ryan Giggs never matched for Manchester United after turning 22.
