Arne Slot has confirmed Mohamed Salah should be fit to return for Friday\u2019s trip to Aston Villa, but only for a short appearance from the bench as part of preparations for an Anfield farewell next week.<\/p>\n
“Mo will be available tomorrow but only for a few minutes,” Slot confirmed. “Hopefully he can come in.”<\/p>\n
The manager also paid tribute to left back Andy Robertson ahead of his farewell, describing him as “a great human being” while refusing to be drawn on whether supporters will have further farewells to come.<\/p>\n
As with Robertson, centre back Ibrahima Konat\u00e9 has limited time remaining on his contract. Konat\u00e9 has just six weeks left at the club and has openly admitted his desire to stay, but Slot said no progress on an extension has been made. “If there is a resolution then we will tell the world,” Slot insisted. “At the moment, not yet.”<\/p>\n
There is increasing uncertainty around goalkeeper Alisson. The Brazilian is currently sidelined with injury, has one year remaining on his contract and has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A side Juventus. On those reports Slot admitted he only had the “boring, same old answer,” and added: “I am reading the same things as you are probably reading but it is not what I would talk about here.”<\/p>\n
When asked whether fans should prepare a “big send off” for Alisson over the remaining fixtures, Slot urged supporters to provide the same level of backing regardless of the player\u2019s future. He said the club will make any announcements when a resolution is reached.<\/p>\n
