City\u2019s playing and coaching situation remains unsettled, with Guardiola\u2019s future unclear and speculation that Fern\u00e1ndez\u2019s former Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca, has been earmarked as a potential replacement at the Etihad Stadium. Regardless of managerial developments, the club is preparing further squad work this summer and has identified the midfield engine room as a priority.<\/p>\n
Chelsea, who have now parted ways with manager Liam Rosenior, are said to be reluctant to sell their vice-captain. The Blues may, however, face a difficult decision if Fern\u00e1ndez pushes to leave.
