Chelsea have dismissed Liam Rosenior after a run of five consecutive league defeats without scoring, a sequence the club says has not occurred since 1912. The decision came 106 days after Rosenior’s appointment and was announced the day after Tuesday\u2019s 3\u20130 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.<\/p>\n

The club has turned once again to Calum McFarlane. The former Manchester City youth team coach stepped up from the Blues academy to fill the void left by Maresca\u2019s departure at the turn of the year. McFarlane, who claimed a dramatic point against Pep Guardiola before losing a west London derby to Fulham which Rosenior watched from the stands, was promoted to Rosenior\u2019s first-team staff after a bright interim spell.<\/p>\n
The 40-year-old has been handed the reins on a temporary basis with four days to prepare before Chelsea\u2019s FA Cup semi-final against Leeds United at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
