On Saturday Liverpool were dumped out of the FA Cup at the quarterfinal stage following an emphatic 4\u20130 defeat at Manchester City. After the game Szoboszlai questioned the mentality of his teammates and said the Reds went missing at the Etihad Stadium.<\/p>\n
Despite that blunt assessment, Szoboszlai underlined his attachment to Anfield and his family\u2019s contentment there. \u201cI love being here,\u201d he said. The midfielder\u2019s comments reduced immediate talk of a move to Spain, even though links to Real Madrid have circulated alongside scrutiny of his contract.<\/p>\n
Szoboszlai\u2019s current deal runs until 2028, and his recent performances have prompted claims he merits a lucrative extension. Mohamed Salah\u2019s impending exit is expected to free up negotiating room for Liverpool, with the Hungarian set to become one of the Reds\u2019 highest-paid players should the club secure fresh terms.<\/p>\n
