Manchester United have confirmed that Patrick Dorgu has returned to individual training as he advances his recovery.<\/p>\n
The club maintained that there is no set timeline for his comeback but confirmed the Denmark international is back out on the grass, working alone in the next phase of his rehabilitation. Dorgu is hopeful of returning before the end of the season, with optimistic reports suggesting a mid-April comeback.<\/p>\n
Dorgu joined United midway through the 2024\u201325 season and has experienced a mixed run of form since his arrival. He was recruited specifically to aid Ruben Amorim\u2019s 3-4-2-1 plans, but Amorim was relieved of his duties less than 12 months later.<\/p>\n
A left back by trade, Dorgu has appeared in a more advanced role in his last seven Premier League outings, operating either as an attacking midfielder under Amorim or as a winger following Carrick\u2019s arrival. That positional shift produced some of his strongest performances for United.<\/p>\n
Dorgu started both of Carrick\u2019s first two matches as a left winger and scored in both fixtures, helping United see off Manchester City and Arsenal, before suffering a hamstring injury shortly before the final whistle against the Gunners.<\/p>\n
The run of positive results United have enjoyed in recent months has softened the impact of Dorgu\u2019s absence. It is easy to overlook how impressive he was at the start of Carrick\u2019s reign, and while the team may not have missed him in the short term, United\u2019s season might have been even stronger had Dorgu maintained that form.<\/p>\n
